Moving within Florida
Tell your current WIC office about the move and ask how your record will be transferred to the new county or clinic. Contact the destination county to arrange your next appointment. Have your WIC information, current benefit dates and new address details ready for the official team.
Moving to another state
Florida’s WIC EBT instructions say to tell your local office and take your WIC VOC/ID card when moving. Ask the office for the transfer documentation you need and how to reach WIC at your destination. “VOC” refers to verification of certification; the receiving program will explain the next step.
Your Florida card is not an interstate card
A Florida WIC EBT card is only usable at approved Florida stores. Do not assume it can be used after you arrive in another state. Ask both programs about the transition and your benefit dates before making plans. This guide lists Florida offices; it does not yet publish another state’s rules or clinics.
Before leaving your current clinic
- Confirm the next appointment or certification date.
- Ask which transfer records to take.
- Check the date range of currently issued benefits.
- Save your current and destination office numbers.
Find the destination Florida county or use the state’s official WIC page for help.
Arriving in Florida from another state
The Hendry County transfer instructions identify the WIC transfer or ID card, identification, current address evidence and available immunization records as items to prepare. Tell the receiving Florida clinic when the previous program last issued benefits and when they end. Benefits cannot be received from more than one state for the same period.
Ask the receiving office how it will verify your current certification and arrange the first Florida issuance. Transfer paperwork and a usable Florida card are separate steps. Keep both programs’ contact details until the receiving clinic confirms the transfer is complete.
Missing your verification of certification (VOC)?
Call the receiving office instead of abandoning the transfer. Hendry’s published process allows certification information to be requested from the previous WIC program; a release may need to be completed. Ask the receiving team for the correct official destination for any fax or secure submission, then ask the previous clinic to send the records there.
Confirm receipt with the receiving office. A request being sent is not proof that the new clinic has obtained the certification record. Processing time depends on the offices and records; this guide cannot promise a transfer date.
A move within Florida does not require interstate shopping
A Florida card can be used at authorized stores elsewhere in Florida. When changing counties, arrange the record transfer and next appointment with the receiving team even if the card still works. Hendry’s instructions for an in-state transfer list identification for each transferring participant and the WIC ID/appointment card and immunization records if available. You must be currently certified and due for benefits.
For a move out of Florida, obtain transfer documentation from the current clinic and contact the destination state’s WIC program. The Florida card does not work in another state. Ask both programs about the benefit periods so issuance does not overlap.
