How the limits work

  • Gross pay. WIC looks at wages before taxes on your pay statement, matched to how often you are paid.
  • Unborn babies count. For a pregnant woman, each unborn baby adds one person to the household size.
  • Other programs. If you currently receive Medicaid, temporary cash assistance (TCA) or food assistance, you are income-eligible. You do not have to be on any program to qualify.
  • Income is one test. WIC also serves people who are pregnant, breastfeeding or recently pregnant, infants and children under 5, who live in Florida and have a nutrition risk (for example underweight, overweight, low birth weight, low hemoglobin, prematurity or a chronic disease).

The USDA also runs a short WIC eligibility tool you can answer in a few minutes.

Common questions

What is the income limit for WIC in Florida?

It depends on household size and how often you are paid. For a household of 4 the limit is $61,050 a year, $5,088 a month or $1,175 a week in gross income (before taxes), per the Florida WIC table revised June 26, 2026.

Does an unborn baby count in the household size?

Yes. Florida WIC counts each unborn baby as one extra person in the household size for a pregnant woman. A pregnant woman living alone and expecting one baby uses the household size of 2.

Am I automatically income-eligible if I get Medicaid or SNAP?

Florida WIC says you are income-eligible if you currently receive Medicaid, temporary cash assistance (TCA) or food assistance. You still need a nutrition risk and to live in Florida, which WIC checks at the certification visit.

Is it gross or net income?

Gross. The table compares the wages before taxes on your pay statement, using the column that matches how often you are paid.

What if my household has more than 8 people?

The state table stops at 8 people and asks larger households to call their local WIC office for details. Find your county WIC number.
